CQ Magazine Launch – Creative Direction and Execution
This project showcases my ability to lead and execute a multifaceted creative vision from concept to completion—skills essential to the role of a Creative Director. I spearheaded the launch of CQ Magazine, a flagship lifestyle publication for Colonial Country Club, overseeing every element of its creation across digital and print platforms.
From a tactical perspective, the project drew on a wide range of creative disciplines: journalism and editorial writing, graphic design, photography, layout, typography, videography, and video editing. I conducted original interviews—including with Charles Schwab Challenge champion Davis Riley and world-renowned golf course architect Gil Hanse—and collaborated closely with over 10 department directors and staff members to curate content, gather assets, and align messaging.
Acting as both creative lead and project manager, I was responsible for establishing the production schedule, facilitating cross-departmental coordination, and maintaining clear communication at every stage. I created timelines, set benchmarks, and ensured all contributors were prepared, informed, and met deadlines. Every detail—from tone and visuals to pacing and production—was guided by a cohesive creative strategy built to elevate the brand and resonate with its members.
The final product received high praise from leadership. General Manager Frank Cordeiro called it a “world-class publication,” and the club ordered 5,000 copies following its debut. To date, it remains Colonial’s most-viewed publication—a testament to its visual appeal, compelling storytelling, and overall creative impact.
This project reflects my ability to blend strategic thinking with hands-on creative execution, to lead a team toward a shared vision, and to deliver results that elevate a brand. It is the kind of work that energizes me—and the kind of leadership I bring to every creative challenge.
